Whew!

We had one tiring weekend! All fun though. I always have fun attending children parties and soon I guess it will be more fun since we will have our own little one attending and enjoying the parties with us. We also got a chance to buy my Aunts order of diet pills after the party. I don't have to go out this week to get that. yey to that!
Disneyland as always was fun too. Every visit to the happiest place on earth is F-U-N! It was a good thing that the weather yesterday was not as bad as the other days. It was sunny but at least we still had the cool wind. It was not perfect Disneyland weather but it was not as bad as I expected.

Mommy's Birthday

One month of waiting is over for my family back home. The box we sent had arrived and it was just in time for my mom's birthday. She got her birthday gift days before her birthday. I'm glad she likes the gift we sent here. I also got her a wrinkle cream I found online. If anyone reading this is interested in getting one, just click here. I have not tried it but I have read very good reviews about it.
Anyhow, today my mom celebrates her ___th birthday. Again, I'm missing the celebration. I'm looking forward to calling Manila later though to greet here and talk to relatives who'll be celebrating with her. I will miss all the yummy food! This is the first time I won't be home to celebrate her birthday. This are the times I miss Manila the most.
I hope you have a happy celebration mom. We love you and miss you.

Baby Shower Invitations

No, I'm not having one soon. Not yet.

I had to miss a good friends baby shower a few days before Christmas. It was sad to have missed a very important day and a gathering of friends but what can I do. Good thing atleast that I had the chance to help her in organizing the party and in picking the baby shower invitations. I know she had a grand during the party and got some really cool gifts for the baby. She's due to give birth soon and I can't wait to see baby G soon and meet her next year.

Mango Panna Cotta

Let me share a really easy but yummy receipe of Mango Panna Cotta.

1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon gelatin
1 cup cream
*1/4 pc vanilla pod, seeds scraped
3 tablespoons sugar
1 pc. mango, diced

Pour milk into a small bowl and stir the gelatin powder. Set aside. In a saucepan, stir together the cream, vanilla seeds, vanilla pod and sugar, and set over medium heat. Bring to simmering. Pour the gelatin and milk into the cream, stirring until completely dissolved. Remove from heat, and let steep for a while before lifting out the vanilla pod. Pour in serving glasses and let set in the fridge. When set, top with diced mango.

I use vanilla flavoring instead of the vanilla pod. This recipe is also good for 3-4 persons so just double the ingredients if you need to make more. I like this recipe because it's not too sweet. You also have the option to substitute the mangoes to any other fruit like peaches or blueberries. It's a perfect dessert for your Christmas parties because it's so easy to do.

.::met up with relatives again after lunch at rockwell to watch a movie and for dinner (we do this every year). we watched the judy ann-ryan movie because we liked the KKK movie last year. unfortunately, the SSS movie was not as expected. the scenes were not really funny and some parts were parang pilit. i didn't like the scene's with bronson anymore unlike last year. i think we should have just watched maricel's movie.

i want coffee

i don't drink coffee everyday, but if i start drinking coffee i would be drinking it for days until i think of something else. im usually like that even with food. i am right now craving for coffee again but i don't want the ordinary coffee. i want an espresso or a capuccino. how i wish i had a Jura capresso machine. then i could also invite some friends over for coffee and pastries while tita nora is playing the piano.

my aunt celebrated her 50th birthday last night with a ballroom themed party at makati. traffic was not really bad. it was an hour travel from quezon city to makati ( not bad talaga, bec it could have been worst!). the party was super fun. it started at 7pm and ended at midnight. we all didn't want to go home yet but since almost everyone had work the next day (except for me!huhuhu) we just decided to have a continuation of the party on christmas eve. pictures are posted here.

one of my cousins made this. cute diba? christmas 2005 theme was red and green. 2006 was red and gold. for this year we haven't decided of what the theme is. i need to come up with one already as i have to text everyone to make sure they could prepare. any suggestion? with only 12 days before christmas, i need help!

something i look forward too....

my aunt does not look like she is 50, she looks young pa. mga 49 years old, teehee. we have always told her we will surprise her with a party when she turns 50 ( after my mom and tito sonny's surprise parties when they turned 60). but the surprise party won't work anymore so my cousins told her of the party and gave her invitations to give to her friends. im sure it's going to be super fun. im excited! shocks, i have nothing to wear. plus i need shoes!

What's your Christmas Day schedule?

christmas day starts the 24th for my family. it has been a yearly tradition that everyone from my mom's side of the family whose here in manila spend christmas eve at our house. we usually have a theme. for last year it was red and gold and the year before that it was red and green. this year's theme is still undecided. we have parlor games (mind you, kina-career namin ito kahit ten pesos lang ang price), the usual exchange gift and of course we feast.

we usually end the christmas party bet 2am to 3am. we meet up again the next day to watch a movie and usually for christmas dinner.

i was finally able to go to the malls after the board exams. didn't really buy anything but just the idea of going to the mall and doing some window shopping is therapy for me already. i saw new flip flops at havaianas that i'ld like to get. checked out the new style's of crocs and i still don't know if i would get myself one. i liked the alice designs and the one for kids fit me but im not so sure if i should get one. still undecided. i checked out the melissa shoes at serendra but they didn't have the design that i want which is good because i don't really have the budget for one right now. teehee.

i also got to check out the nintendo wii and i really liked it. i know we'ld have fun playing with it so i will be putting it on list of things to buy and hopefully i could get with one with the money i earn online.

ohh, and i was able to watch one more chance. nice movie. cutie and super relate ako, teehee. i was out the whole day friday, which was good. i basically stayed home mon to thurs doing nothing so atleast i was able to do some walking yesterday.

today is going to be a busy day as it's julia's 1st bday so we are headed to montevista after lunch for her party and then i will meet with friends at ate emma's house tonight for a get together of my nursing school friends.

dead tired

i have been busy since saturday. my sister is to go back to the states by thursday morning so we are trying to make the most of the days she is to spend here in manila. we went to the mall saturday morning and then met up with the cousins saturday evening for a night out. we first went to cena and then the idea of videoke came up so we went to music 21 in jupiter. after which, no one wanted to go home yet so we went to starbucks greenbelt. went home around 2am already but it was all fun!

sunday was spent at the mall again. i wanted to buy a new pair of havaianas but walang size. went to crocs (mary jane's) and was thinking of getting a pair but it felt so big naman. not meant to be.

i was planning to do some studying monday but a dinner was planned with family friends so i had to help with the preparations. we again went to the mall to buy some groceries. it rained during the dinner but super enjoy pa din since we have not seen them for a very long time. reunion talaga! some of the guests left early since the kids had school but a few stayed and chikahan till 3AM.



we already planned on going to 168 tuesday morning so even if we lack sleep, we woke up early since we wanted to go to 168 early. buti naman kasi konti pa lang tao when we got there and we got to enjoy 168. after 168 we (me and my two sisters) went to greenhills. after greenhills, parang di pa kami napagod we went to SM north edsa. my sister had to buy polvoron. i also finally had my ears pierced! i have an ear piercing na but i had another one added. super sakit ha! they told me it was not painful, but it was. super love my piercing, will take a pic soon.

tomorrow another dinner is scheduled at dampa. hopefully, i get to study in the morning till afternoon. i promise to lock myself in a room after my sister leaves. i need to study badly!

a spooktacular event!

we had a halloween party last saturday (10.27.2007). it was super fun! unknown to family and friends, my ate came home from the US. she was suppose to go home for christmas but since she was not allowed to take her vacation come december, she decided to come home october instead. everyone came in costumes! it was a super successful party.

not just another party

tita grace is turning 50 and we are having a party. my cousins have already decided on a date and venue for the party and since it will happen a week before Christmas, invitations are to be sent out early to make sure that guests could reserve the day already for the special occasion since by that time christmas parties would be in full swing already. i have already ordered the invitations online and would be hand carried to manila by a friend who is coming home next month.

my weekend was fun!

friday:

with friends from school, we went to school to apply for transcript and diploma. i saw one of our professors and he congratulated us for passing the board. i told him, we (me and my friends) have not taken the board yet. haha!

after school, we went to gateway as we are to watch a concert that is sponsored by hope cigarettes. we had dinner first at pizza hut. then off we went to araneta coliseum. it was actually not a concert but their were performers. it was a grand raffle draw of hope cigarette. someone won 20 million pesos (one winner only) that night. we had fun as the performers were ogie alcasid, vhong navarro and a few other artists. no pictures though as no one remembered on bringing a camera.

we stressed out (secret on what this means, teehee!) after the concert and then we went to starbucks. was home by 2am.

went to church at 8am and then went to alabang for TJ's party. had fun as usual. it was a costume party and the theme for the party was sports attire. went to the party as a boxer. look at my shorts! ginagaya ko lang shorts ni pacquiao (teehee)! more pictures posted here.
