mesothelioma

i first heard of mesothelioma in nursing school. mesothelioma is an asbestos-caused cancer of the serous membranes that surround many of the body’s vital organs. unlike the other forms of cancer, this type of cancer is not known to a lot of people. a friend's relative is suffering from this type of cancer. hers is peritoneal mesothelioma which is the second most common form of the disease which affects the lining of her abdomen. cancer is not only a physically draining disease but more so it drains you emotionally too. i could only hope and pray that she get better soon.

collections

i went to my tita's house to check on dvd's she has that i could borrow and she was fixing her rare coin. it was so cool and expensive i bet. apart from her coin collection she collects miniature piano and she also collects anything that has musical notes.

i was thinking of it and i realized other than the powerpuff items i have (which is not a lot), i don't really have a collection. my eldest sister has polly pockets. my other sister has cabbage patch and cars. me? nada. oh, i have a few pairs of havaianas. would that be considered a collection already?

im so boring.

vacation

the last vacation i took was when i went to boracay with my family last october. i promised myself i will take a vacation after the december board exams but it never happened. my friends and i have planned of going out of town for summer, but it too never happened. i had a 3 day baguio get away last holy week. it was great because i was with family but that vacation was really tiring as we were always scheduled to go somewhere.

i want a vacation where i could just do nothing. just be under the sun and do a little sight seeing.

that's what i'm going to have soon. can't wait!

apple iphone

i have always been happy with my razr. it's was a phone where i could text, call, and take pictures if i needed too. that's all i really need, right? for almost a week now, my razr has not been working. i don't know what's wrong with it. my razr has suffered a lot of fall already and i think it has taken it's toll.

it has been about a week ago that an announcement was made about the apple iphone 3G. with no intentions of buying one in the future, the curious me just read articles about it. all i can say is...I WANT ONE! teehee. it's to be released on july 11 in the US and a few other countries except the philippines. on when it is to be released here, that i cannot answer. globe telecom though will partner with singtel for the release of iphone here in the country.

i hope rackets become better in the coming weeks so i can save up for one.

save wisely

lately i have gotten to realize how important it is to make investments. saving money in the bank alone is not a very wise form of investment because of the very low interest rate being offered by banks. i would suggest that one look into other forms of investments like shares of stocks. it's easy to get in touch with a broker and check for your stock options. study the market carefully and check of what are the good companies to invest in. with the stock market though, you'll have to carefully watch the market. it's not a form of investment that you forget because before you know it you would have lost money already.

im not an expert when it comes to saving money because honestly i don't have one right now. i have invested my money to nursing school. going back to school even with my parents help has depleted whatever savings i have but im not complaining. i know it was all worth it. i think it's the best investment i have ever made.

kratom

kratom refers to a tree that is indigenous to Thailand. If North America has oak or maple tree, it is kratom for thailand. I first heard of kratom when my cousin took a trip to thailand and she went to a store that sells kratom. she was told that kratom one early years was chewed to help one get through their work day. kratom's reported effects are supposed to be more sedative or relaxing. kratom has a long history of use as a pain-killer, an anti-diarrheal remedy. kratom effects on humans are not clearly known, so it should first be made absolutely clear that any consumption of this natural herbal product should be done with caution and care.

SM vs Trinoma

i went to SM north edsa last night and if you are someone who is from QC, you know that the mall is usually filled with people shopping and window shopping. i have noticed though that ever since Trinoma opened, more people go to Trinoma instead of to SM. it was just weird walking at SM with not much shoppers. I didn't dare go to trinoma because i know na dami shoppers. SM has to do major renovations to attract customers again because obviously everyone has been going to trinoma. i personally like trinoma better.

i love the rain

it has been very hot this morning. it has been hot the past days but not right now. for the past 20 mins, it has been raining and im loving it! i love the rain especially if i am not going out. it is much cooler right now compared to an hour ago. i just hope it rains for a few more hours.

im still alive

surprisingly, i was able to cross out a lot of things from my to do list. hooray! i still have a few more things to do but i can't really do anything else right now but wait since our softphone provider's service is super bad. i can't believe we plan to move our softphone subscription to them. i can't even do any tests right now since no one has called me to help me with the configuration. they are delaying things. tsktsk!

since, i have to wait for them i know have time to do some blogging and surfing. hooray again! my uncle has requested me to find out on how he can get the drug guide for blackberry. even doctors need easy access to a drug guide. i believe i have found what he actually needs and will just have to email him the details. after, i can do my weekly rounds of blog hop.

today turns out to be a not so bad day after all.

trip to the derma

my mom has been bugging me to go with her to the dermatologist this saturday as she has ran out of anti wrinkle cream already. yeah, i guess it's about time to get a facial too. i have not had one for months. the last time i had one was close to a year ago. it's just that i don't like going to the dermatologist on weekends because of the long waiting period. i guess i just have to convince my mom that we go on monday instead. hopefully she agrees with me.

06.06.08

yesterday was a busy day. i was on leave from work but i still had to wake up early to make sure everyone was working. i also had to deal with smart bro, one of our staff members internet provider. i am super thankful they are not my internet provider because the service they provide is really bad.

10am my sister and i went to the salon to have our nails done. by 11am we went to a different salon for our hair and make-up. cousin T was getting married at 4pm and i was one of the bridesmaids and my sister was a secondary sponsor.

we left the salon before 3pm so we just had time to change and then off we went to Archbishop's palace for the wedding ceremony. yup, no lunch and we didn't even have a chance to drink water. the ceremony was short but really nice. i liked the priest's homily because it was very simple but sweet. a lot of funny moments during the ceremony also but i think that made the ceremony even more nice.

reception was at wack-wack golf and country club. no formal program but super fun still. my cousin had to change outfits too during the ceremony and her second gown was really nice.

congratulations, T and G!

psp-ing

during my cousins wedding. migsy and briann were busy playing psp and i was busy bugging them. teehee. both kids are ps addicts! during the reception, the two kids were busy with the psp. here are more pictures to prove that...
briann patiently waiting for his turn

what's with the psp?

real living

it was a busy day yesterday so this morning was just spent watching movies, catching on sleep and reading. i was going over a home magazine and i saw a room with wood blinds. it was so nice and classy. i want to get this for our room. i showed it to my mom and she agrees with me that they are really nice but she says if we also have to change our windows if we change to wood blinds. that's too much work and i don't like to home renovations. so we are sticking with our current blinds and curtains for now.

viva las vegas

when my parents went to the states to visit my sister, one of the most memorable for them was a trip to las vegas. one because it was a trip they took with my mom's brother, second because my dad won $$$ on the slot machine (he actually thought he won a car) and third because of the beautiful las vegas hotels they visited. i want to go to vegas...ok macau would do for now.
