i named a stray cat of ours prince. why? because my mom said i should not tell the cat he is ugly bec for all i know the cat when kissed can turn into a prince. a handsome prince at that. from that time on, i named the black skinny stray cat prince. of course, i don't believe my mom that prince will actually turn into a price. and i don't have plans of kissing him anytime soon just to prove to my mom that she will never be right about the cat being a prince. i just find it cute. i believe i have a knack for naming pets. we had dogs in the past i named "bakit" and "ewan". the next dog we will have (if we ever have one again but i doubt it) will have the name "pakialam mo".

when i woke up friday morning, my mom told me about a congresional candidate whose poster is all over our front fence. my dad has painted it already with "wag iboto". i made a suggestion that we get in touch with the candidate so that he could have it taken-off.
i thought it was going to be easy, but i was wrong.
we first went to the barangay hall to check if anyone from the office knew where the headquarter's of the candidate is. no one was at the office even if it was 2 in the afternoon. they went home for LUNCH and no one was their except for the street sweeper.
i thought of checking the internet and see if i could get any information about the candidate. i soon discovered that he is an incumbent councilor for our district. i called the available number of quezon city hall but no one was answering the trunk line. i called the hotline number and they gave me direct number for the councilor's number but no one was answering either.
i then called the office of Commission on Election covering the first district of quezon city. i wanted to know what we could do. or if they have any records of the office/headquarters of councilor abesamis. the girl i talked too, who was supposedly the head for the district advised that i get hold of the candidate. she told me though that she didn't know where the headquarter's of the candidate is. and that they don't have any records for such.
my dad and i decided that we will just go to quezon city hall. we went directly to the office of councilor abesamis but the office was closed. we asked around to check if they knew on how we could get in touch with him. luckily, someone from Vice-Mayor Bautista's office knew a staff of Councilor Abesamis. She gave me the cellphone number. i sent the staff (kuya boyet) a message asking where the headquarteds of couniclor abesamis is and he replied with "chowking, mindanao ave".
we then went to mindanao avenue. wala namang chowking! i called kuya boyet and he said he meant a signage of chowking not a restaurant. he gave further instructions that they had a maroon gate (it was actually brown).
finally, we located the office. i went down. gave my letter and showed kuya boyet the pictures we took. he then asked me if i wanted to meet the councilor. of course i said yes, teehee.
so he lead me to the councilor's office. i immediately shook his hand and introduced myself.
me: good afternoon, sir. im macy a district one voter and resident. ipakita ko po sana sa inyo ginawa ng mga tauhan nyo.
Councilor A: ano ba yun?
me: (showed the pictures and gave him the letter) akala po ata ng mga tao nyo, kailangan namin ng wall paper e.
Councilor A: sorry iha. hindi ko alam ito.
me: i know. kaya nga po, hinanap ko kayo agad para ipaalam sa inyo.
Councilor A: ipapaalis ko agad yan.
me: sana po. i was suppose to vote for you, pero ganito naman po nangyari.
Councilor A: papaaksyunan ko agad.
me: sige po. i will expect that. and may naka paint na po na wag kayo i-vote kaya paalis nyo na po agad.

vacation no more.
back to waking up at 5:30 in the morning.
back to going to the hospital.
at least for the next 5 weeks.
im now rotating in a hospital in manila. the last time i was assigned in the hospital was more than a year ago. the hospital has not changed a bit. well, except for the NEW and CLEAN (the old ones were super dirty and really old) ceiling fans that they now have and the TV sets which were donated by the local government.
even if the hospital has new fans, the heat is still killing me. how i wish i was having my clinical rotation in an air-conditioned hospital. im pretty sure that would make things a lot easier. and if a student nurse or a health care provider in general was in a more conducive working condition, giving health care is more effective. i think ranting about how poor the public hospitals here in our country is never ending. even if elections is coming, i think no one is really dead serious in giving much attention to our country's health services. boohoo!
i would gladly campaign and vote for someone who would have SINCERE and REAL concern on addressing this problem of ours. for me, if the candidate has no plans on supporting bills on health care, you don't deserve my vote. and you don't deserve to be a public servant.
i don't care if i end up not voting on may 14.
and i don't care if it's just a single vote.
who cares...no one cares...only care bears! teehee.

please pray for my cousin's son MARTIN. he is 1 year and 7 months old and was recently diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia.
doctors have been brutaly honest as to his current condition.
i ask you that you join us in prayer.
please pray for my cousins melong and len--that they be strong even during the storm.
please pray that the doctors find a cure.
or that MARTIN does not feel pain.

We got back from the Land of Sundot Kulangot Saturday night. The trip home was shorter than the trip to Baguio. The weather was great. Really cold in the late afternoon till evening and then in the morning. Loved it! our room in the hotel didn't have a/c, but you wouldn't even need one.
We left manila, 4:30 am of April 5. We made a short stop in tarlac and then another short stop to eat lunch. We finally arrived at 1:00pm. We stayed at citylight hotel. It was a nice hotel. The rooms were nice, the hotel was near session road, it's 10 mins walk to SM, the staff were all friendly and their was parking.
After checking in, we just fixed our things and freshened up a bit and then we wasted no time and immediately walked to session road. First on my list was to look for the Oh My Gulay restaurant. I asked a guard in one of the stores along session road if he knows of the restaurant, he said he didn't. We then crossed the street and i immediately saw their sign.
We immediately checked the restaurant. It was at the fifth floor of the building but it was all worth it. the place was b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l! I immediately checked out the menu and we decided to just come back the next day for lunch.
We walked along session road and after we decided to go to SM. I was thinking that it might be closed but it was not. in fact they extended the store hours pa. it was only 4 in the afternoon so we just went around.we also checked out the viewing deck. ate our snack at carlo's pizza. my dad and uncle went back to the hotel to get the van and then we went to camp john hay (which was B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L), mines view park and then around 7 in the evening we went back to the hotel. we ate dinner sa hotel na lang. we called it a day early. around 9pm. everyone was tired.
i woke up at 7 in the morning. just had time to take a bath as everyone was waiting for me already. we headed off to buy ube and strawbery jam at good shepherd. then we went back to camp john hay to go around. the oldies wanted to check out burnham park but ang dami tao. it was almost 12 noon so we decided to go to session road to have lunch.
food at Oh My Gulay was the best! i hardly eat veggies but i really enjoyed the food. not only the food but the place as well. super nice talaga. after lunch, we walked to the market to buy fruits. and then we went back to the hotel. funny thing is as soon as we arrived sa hotel we started feasting on the fruits that we bought. after we all had siesta. as soon as we woke up we started eating nanaman.
we walked to SM again because my tita had to buy something. after which we walked along session road because the oldies wanted to eat steak and they saw a nice steak house along session road. unfortunately it was closed so we just ended up eating dinner at andoks. i had my second ice cream for the day after dinner. we then headed back to the hotel. the oldies slept early because they wanted to go to the market early morning. i ended up watching tv.
on my third day at baguio, i woke up late. the oldies already got back from the market when i woke up. i only had time for a bath and to fix my things. they wanted to check out early because they still had things to buy sa pangasinan.
it was a short stay but it was super fun. i never thought baguio was going to be so fun.

In a few hours im off to Baguio. How i wish i could say, im off to boracay. But it's Baguio. I dread the long trip and the traffic though. It has been 8 years or even more since the last time i went to Baguio.
Baguio is where i went for my first horse ride. I remember how scared i was with the horse. weird ko talaga.
My sister told me that we should try the restaurant Oh My Gulay in Baguio. It's a vegetarian restaurant (oh no! im choosy with the veggies that i eat). I have read reviews of the restaurant online and it is highly recommended. Maybe we should try it. Im sure the oldies will love it. I will write a review when i get back.
Im currently watching the local news and it's cold in Baguio (and it's traffic)! I think i will have to bring my jacket. woohoo! now im excited!

I watched for the first time last night Philippines next top model. It was funny because if america's next top model has tyra mail, our version of it has Ruffa text. teehee! the show was boring. audio was really bad. the girls are not really model material. the judges were blah. i didn't like. i hope we stop doing our version of US Shows. kainis lang e.

the results of the 2006 bar exams came out yesterday. i can only imagine what the examinees go through. it must be hard. really hard.
i have long wanted to be a doctor. but i don't like the idea of studying and taking the board exams so i immediately dropped the idea of me becoming a doctor.
and then while i was taking up my masteral studies, one of my clients was telling me to go to law school instead. he was so willing to help me. he was a very popular lawyer at that time (now, not anymore because he is closely related with Pres ERAP) and he was telling me that i would become a good lawyer.
it's good that i didn't believe him.
why?
because i have friends in nursing school who are lawyers. they are good and successful lawyers. they come from the really good universities. but they too have decided to take up nursing.
so what's my point?
had i followed my client, it would take me 4 years to finish law school.
and then spend 2 more years for nursing school.
it's good that i took the shorter route.
i think i am destined to be a nurse. but then again, i still have to pass the board exams. taking it i guess is my greatest fear for now. i don't know how i will study and prepare for it. i don't know what i will do if i don't pass it the first time i take it. AND i don't know what i will do once i pass the exams.
i think im ranting and i gotta end this now.

exams are over,woohoo!
i still have a hundred item exam on monday but that should be easy. finishing nursing school is so near! im so excited BUT then again i would still have to pass the board exams to be able to practice the nursing profession.
the past 2 weeks has been hectic. i have been sleep deprived, super tired from duty and attending classes and taking exams. to make things worst, i got sick. im just glad that the final exams is now over and the only thing i would have to think of now is completing the requirements of PRC.

i love wednesday nights!
i don't have school and duty scheduled every wednesday. not unless i have to go to school for a make-up class or review classes so i usually just stay home. i consider it my rest day before my clinical rotation day's.
wednesday nights is spent in front of the tv. the tv shows i watch on wednesday's nights are:
6-8pm america idol
8-9pm extreme home makeover
9-10pm hell's kitchen
10-11pm pbb and project runway
eek! i watch too much reality tv shows!

i woke up early this morning for we had to be at the hospital (v.luna) by 6am. our clinical instructor is a colonel and a feedback from my groupmate who got to talk to her was that she was very strict. she wanted us to be at the hospital early, with our shoes super clean ( shiny clean) and hair should not touch the collar of our uniform. she also informed my groupmate that whoever comes in late will have to do push-ups. we were all scared. what scared me most is that we will be assigned at the emergency room. the unit i hate the most. good thing that when we met our clincal instructorit turns out she is not that strict. yehey!
more good news is that....
the head nurse of the unit is a cutie teehee! he is still far from being a mcdreamy or even a mcsteamy, but this is the first time that we will be working with a cutie. and that makes waking up and going to the hospital early in the morning something to look forward too.

i woke up early this morning for we had to be at the hospital (v.luna) by 6am. our clinical instructor is a colonel and a feedback from my groupmate who got to talk to her was that she was very strict. she wanted us to be at the hospital early, with our shoes super clean ( shiny clean) and hair should not touch the collar of our uniform. she also informed my groupmate that whoever comes in late will have to do push-ups. we were all scared. what scared me most is that we will be assigned at the emergency room. the unit i hate the most. good thing that when we met our clincal instructorit turns out she is not that strict. yehey!
more good news is that....
the head nurse of the unit is a cutie teehee! he is still far from being a mcdreamy or even a mcsteamy, but this is the first time that we will be working with a cutie. and that makes waking up and going to the hospital early in the morning something to look forward too.

i remember back in college, (technically im in college again but during the time i was taking up my first course) i would go to school with only a pen. i have not done that in nursing school. when i go to school i usually have a big bag. a BIG HEAVY BAG. i can't seem to go to school with a small bag.
but
i went to school yesterday with only a pen. it brought back so many memories. it was fun while it lasted. as of last night i was preparing my big bag again for school today. all good things never last.

graduation fee at school is Php11,000! i too was shocked. of the Php11,000, Php5,000 is for the college year book. i don't need a year book! and i never imagined that a year book would cost that much. i would rather use the money for additional review classes.

it was about 3 years ago when my mom had our bathroom remodeled. from a very small bathroom we now have a bigger one with a tub! it took the carpenters more that a month to finish and countless (not exaggerating here) trips to a depot shop for the furnishing of the bathroom. it was such a hassle!

whoa! just a few day left of february and summer time is here again. it has been very hot the past few days and i miss that week we had in early february wherein the weather was really, really nice. too bad it lasted for only a week. oh well, all good things must come to an end. teehee.

2007 Macy's New Year's Resolution
1. Go to church every Sunday.
2. Go to the gym.
3. Take time out to smell the flowers and appreciate a bright new day.
4. Drink water--i think i really need to do this. i can skip drinking water in a day. i can live by drinking coke light or juices. This has got to stop!
5. Read a chapter a day of my nursing books. I need to do this and prepare myself for the exams i will have to take after i graduate.
6. Learn how to drive! It has been a must do for me every year. eek! if my parents do leave this year ineed must learn to drive na talaga!
7. Stay less online and do other productive things (like watching dvd or tv--teehee! this is going to be really hard!).
8. Finish my list of to do things everyday and not have them wait for tomorrow.
9. Organize my stuff and keep them organized! teehee.

Blessed 2007 to everyone!
the last 2 weeks of December has been busy. i finally had my long awaited Christmas break. It has been short but still enough to recharge me for the grueling months to come at school.
the annual Tuaño Christmas party for 2007 was super fun as usual. everyone (in Manila) was here to party at our house. we had games, exchange gift, kainan and inuman (i didn't drink though, and i didn't also for new year! yey!)
the week after Christmas marked my last week in the office. it was a tough decision. i didn't want to resign but my mom has been bugging me to resign for almost a year now. with the schedule of lectures, review and clinical rotation in the next few months i had to give in and finally decide on resigning. it was a busy week at work. and before i even knew it, last day ko na. on my last day my team had breakfast at heaven and eggs in tomas morato. i will miss seeing my office friends but then again i know that we will always be friends. i will miss you guys!
and to end the year we partied in MAKATI.
like Christmas, to welcome the new year has been a tradition for the family. so we all trooped to the penthouse of mica's condo to welcome the new year. at around 10PM we went to check the party scene at ayala. only a few came so i don't know where they based the news that libo-libo came. we went back to the condo past 11 to make sure we were with the oldies to welcome 2007.

oppss...plus i had a haircut. when i told the hairstylist of what i wanted he/she said "nagpagupit ka pa!" teehee. i told her to cut half of half an inch only. but i think he/she did cut almost an inch off my hair.

teehee! it pays to be still using dial up. i have really opted on using dial up since i do get to access the internet from the office. but now, i think i have to start on talking to my mom about getting dsl.
i know that 2007 has a lot in store for me. it's going to be very busy especially during the first half of the year, but im so ready for it. Here's to a year of blessings and endless possibilities (parang globe ad!).

*Christmas is so near and yet i don't feel Christmassy...just yet.
I have been back to school after a 3 week break and we have been busy. I have lecture monday's (6pm-8pm) and tuesday's (3pm-8pm) and duty every thurs to sat. On saturday, we start with the audit classes (board review classes). We have the audit classes sat and sunday plus on some weeks we have it tue and wed.
And yes, i still have work.
If you ask me how i manage, i too wonder. Salamat sa kape at coke light.
*I had so much fun during our assignment at shangrila. not edsa. not makati. and not mactan. shangri-la pavillion of the National Center for Mental Health. Shangri-La pavillion is home to boys aged 18 years old and below. I was initially scared to be mingling with them, pero in the end parang mas ok pa sila kausap kesa sa normal na tao, teehee!
we had a party for them during our last day. it was a joint party with the other group. it was sooo fun and the kids were singing and dancing (boom tarat-tarat!).
but my heart goes out to those kids. most of them don't have familys anymore. i met a 15 year old kid who was accused of rape. he was jailed for more than a year and was transferred to NCMH after. during the party he looked so sad as the other kids were dancing and singing. when i approached him and asked him on why he was sad, he replied "malungkot kasi ang pasko ko, ate". it was a reminder that as i enjoy Christmas with my family and friends, meron talaga other people who will be sad on Christmas day. i am planning something for the kids, sana matuloy. im sure it will all make them happy.im keeping my fingers crossed and praying hard that i can make it happen.
*I have been buying coffee at starbucks again because of the pretty planner (and the tofee nut latte). i actually earlier on decided on skiping the planner for this year bec buying 21 cups of coffee from starbucks is not at all cheap. BUT minsan lang naman. im 7 stickers away from claiming my planner. excited na ako.
*S&R in congressional ave opened again and im so happy because they have stocks of 3 musketeers! good thing i went with my mom went she went to do the grocery. now, if only they have stocks of the M&M's white chocolate.
*i'm selling lacoste shirts. classic (men and women) and the puff sleeves. leave a message with contact numbers if you're interested and i will get in touch with you. perfect Christmas gift for loved ones. i have RL bags also. and a few adidas items. will try to post pictures on my multiply site within the week so check na lang (i do hope to find time).

this is it.
i signed up for boxing classes at sarreal. i will plan to have my first training by Tuesday after work. it's walking distance from my house, so the walk from my house to the gym serves as my warm up. teehee. im hoping that i get to go to the gym to train at least 2 times a week. i have met my trainer already and he seems nice. but he said he is not during training. teehe. tatagal kaya ako--will see.

they set up a wide screen for the members. so instead of going to the malls or subscribe to sky cable's pay-per-view, we went to the gym na lang. good decision because the fight lasted for three rounds only.
i think it's time Eric Morales change his moniker from el terrible to el retiro(got that from my uncle. so funny!).
he looked really sad on the pic i took. considering he was about to enter the ring at that time. i guess in his heart he knew he would not win. that it was a difficult to beat Manny. anyhoo, I'm sure dami naman sya pera. i was silently rooting for Eric to win. ayaw ko kasi Manny "yabang" Pacquiao. but oh well, i still cheered as he knocked out Eric for the third time.
Manny should just speak Tagalog during interviews. nakakainit ng ulo ang pag ingles niya.

As of 11:00PM, November 10 PAGASA issued a weather bulletin with regards to typhoon "queenie" (international name "chebi").
I pray that it is not as bad as typhoon "milenyo" as it could hit Metro Manila if it changes direction as it passess through Sierra Madre.
Another bulletin is to be released by 5:00AM.

we left manila exactly 5am. since PGMA did not declare nov 2 as a holiday, we were expecting na traffic going home to NE. We arrived cabanatuan before 8am...which was not bad. considering that my mom made a stop at a market in sta rosa for aroind 30 minutes to buy fruits.
we thought of having breakfast at acropolis, also to check if sila tita elo were still checked in. but as we went out of the van, they were about to leave na din. they were targeting to back to manila after lunch so they wanted to go to the cemetry early. we just decided to meet up sa cemetry. we went to the columbarium first to say a prayer for tita tess. after that we went to jollibee to eat breakfast.
after breakfast we went my lola's hse to pick up tito oboy and family. we were at the cemetery before ten in the morning. we first went to the tomb of tiong tito, tita elo's dad. after we went to tio vering's tomb, where my great grandparents (lola's side) were also buried.
we had lunch which was composed of pinakbet, adobo and fried tilapia. we ate lunch at the cemetery. it was a non-stop eating session also. we were eating peanuts, popcorn, chips, grapes, lanzones, sandwich, atbp!
around 2pm my dad and i went to where my great grandparents and other relatives from the diaz side were buried. i took photos, using my phone only cause i left my camera! around 5pm we went to another side of the cemetery to where other relatives (my dad's cousins) were.
we left the cemetery past 6pm. hatid yung ibang relatives tapos we had dinner at max's cabanatuan before heading home. we left cabanatuan at exactly 8pm and we arrived manila 11pm. traffic was really bad sa bulacan. considering it was late na.
it has been awhile since we last went to NE for all-saints day. it was fun. it has always been fun.

i got home 6.30am.i was not able to sleep immediately though because i watched an old tagalog movie which starred nino muhlach. jologs as it may sound the movie was funny and nino muhlach was a very cute 3 year old kid (pero ngayon hindi na!).
i was sleeping by 9am and before 1pm bheng was waking me up already! i texted her before sleeping that she could get amboy's allowance na but i was not able to read her msg that she was going to our house to get it. we watched tv and then went to dencios banawe by 2pm.
we ordered spicy chicken wings, sisig and RHB. kami lang ang umiinom sa dencios! we stayed at dencios till 4pm. we had to go home because i thought i had to tutor lea. when we got home though, my dad told me that lea didn't have assignments since katapos lang ng exam. sayang! had we known, we could have stayed pa sa dencios. we went up to my room to watch tv DAPAT but we ended up sleeping. we woke up before 7, had dinner with mom and dad. we went back to my room, watched tv and then i had to prepare for work na.
we left the house around 9pm. we just dropped her off the mrt station. it was such a short visit but it was sulit because we were able to catch up sa mga kwento.

after all the complaining, ranting and sleepless nights,the semester is finally over (this calls for an inuman session!).
i finished the report for my community rotation over the weekend and it's ready for submission on wednesday. i am done with our take home exam for my pshychiatric nursing class. i would still need to go to school in the coming days but just to have my clearance signed and to enroll for next semester (gastos nanaman!).
i have 3 weeks of sem break...actually 2 lang dapat because this week is suppose to be exam week, but since wala na ako exam--break na!
originally planned on going to dgte, but due to budget constraints i will just have to stay in manila. hopefully, we get to go home to nueva ecija on nov 1. will just take the much needed vacation next year.
over the weekend i bought two paulo coelho for reading and dvd of the tv series 24 (all 5 seasons). i have also requested for a 4 day work week schedule. that should keep me busy for the next 3 weeks.
im just happy that im now closer to finishing nursing school. next semester is expected to be more grueling than the one that i have just finished. i don't care though. just thinking that i am now so close to graduating makes me smile---konting tiis na lang!

i have 3 weeks of sem break...actually 2 lang dapat because this week is suppose to be exam week, but since wala na ako exam--break na!
originally planned on going to dgte, but due to budget constraints i will just have to stay in manila. hopefully, we get to go home to nueva ecija on nov 1. will just take the much needed vacation next year.
over the weekend i bought two paulo coelho for reading and dvd of the tv series 24 (all 5 seasons). i have also requested for a 4 day work week schedule. that should keep me busy for the next 3 weeks.
im just happy that im now closer to finishing nursing school. next semester is expected to be more grueling than the one that i have just finished. i don't care though. just thinking that i am now so close to graduating makes me smile---konting tiis na lang!

here are pictures of the community i have been going to the past 2 weeks.
the whole experience has been humbling.
the family that we visit does not have furnitures in their home. what serves as the living room is also the dining room and the bedroom. im not sure if they even eat three times day. the house they live in is not even conducive for living, as the flooring is made up of uneven planks of wood.
it makes you realize how much more you have that others don't have and would probably never have.
we will go back next week to the area to give the house a mini makeover. with the limited funds and time my partner and i have, i pray that we be successful.

kanina sa community, may isang bata na nag lalaro ng remote control car. obvious na mahina na ang battery mabagal na ang takbo ng kotse.
nasaharap sya ng laruan, paatras na lumalakad samantalang sampung bata naman ang nakasunod sa kotse. parang lahat sila, namangha sa laruan ng bata.
ang ganda ng eksena. sayang wala akong camera at di ko nakunan.
pero naisip ko lang, dapat nga ba ako matawa o dapat ako maawa.

i lost another lolo.
my faternal grandfather's brother, Heracleo Dulay Diaz, the only one living succumbed to heart attack last wednesday.
thinking about it, all the lolo's i have at my dad's side of the family died of heart attack.
i was not able to go with my dad and mom as they went to nueva ecija because i had classes and i can't afford to be absent. Burial is on friday, and again i probably won't be able to go because i have duty.
To Tio Akiong, may you rest in peace.
