Employment

Not that I'm currently in a serious search of employment but I've been looking at websites recently just to check on what's out in the employment market for me. Having finished 2 degrees is not making it very easy either. Hopefully when I'm ready to start working I'ld have more options. I know of a lot of people who lost their jobs for almost a year now and are still unemployed. Things should get better in the coming months. I hope it does.

I've again neglected my blog. I'm such a bad blogger.

We are off to Vegas tomorrow. I'm looking forward to meeting up with friends and spending time with T. His been pretty busy the past few days and I know he deserves this break.

Pictures and stories when we get back. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Weekend List

1. Start packing for the trip to Florida.
2. Buy last minute stuff we would need for the trip.
3. Eyebrow threading & pedicure...salon trip, yey!
4. Print the rheumatoid arthritis treatments for my cousin. I read about it and I think it's something that can really help him.
5. Get the bart simpson stamps for my cousin.
6. Grocery. Buy food we will need until wednesday.
7. Try to change layout for my blogs. Need to make updates for my other blog too.
8. Practice driving :D

Two days for weekend and yet I have a long list of things to do. I'm glad I'm done with cleaning the house. At least that is one item of my list.

Happy weekend everyone!

Think LC and BH

Thinking of getting a LC bag but the one I want is not available for delivery till May. Long wait! I'm thinking of just getting a different one and then try to save up again for the one I really want till May. I might just actually do that.

Most of my time online has been spent looking at where to possibly buy the bag and trying to learn more about blackhead treatments. Crazy I know! Bags and blackheads. They are totally opposites but both are driving me nuts.

Change

I'm not someone who looks forward to changes. I've been so used to so many things that change scare me. In the past few months, major changes has happened. I'm in a new country and I had to leave my home for 30 years.

I've realized though that change is not at all that bad. I'm missing my family in Manila but at the same time I love the family I have here too. It's difficult to be torn but the change is making me grow up. Which I know is good.

Before all I had to worry about is on what to wear when I go out, where to find best acne treatments, where to go over the weekend but now I think more of the future. Change made me more mature.

I've learned to start embracing change. More changes are to happen in the coming months. And I'm all excited with it. Change is good and exciting. Change makes me a better person.

Food.Food.Food

With all the eating we have been doing, I would really need to look for the best diet supplement to help me us lose weight. We had guests over the weekend and all we did was eat.eat.eat. I'm making excuses about having guests over because even without the guests we dine out on weekends. We look forward to trying new restaurants every week but sometimes end up going back to our favorites. Most of the time we try to split an order since we are trying to eat less but of course with how big servings here are and with us having to eat dessert we still end up eating a lot.

tacos
burritoshalf chicken from a persian restaurant
ice cream at disneyland
Yum.Yum.Yum!

Monday Blues

Had a productive, fun but tiring weekend. Weekend's go by so fast and adjusting to spring forward is not a helping at all. We went home late last night and had to wake up early this morning since T had to go to work earlier than usual. We were up by 6:30 am and in reality, that's only 5:30 so it was still really dark outside.

After T left for work I had to crawl back to bed and get more sleep. I would want to spend the whole morning in bed but I do have laundry and chores to do but no choice but to get up and have some things done. I just feel sooo lazy every Monday. Is it just me?

I'm just looking forward to next week as we leave for Florida and then we will have a 5 day weekend. Yey!

Insurance

Insurance for the truck is due for renewal soon but T is thinking of changing insurance companies so we are now on the look out for one which should give us a good deal. The carinsurancelist blog has been really helpful as I've been doing most of the researching as T is busy with work. It's much easier going through that web site since I can easily compare the offers of different car insurance companies. I won't have to go to different websites just to look for the best deal for us. I have 3 insurance companies that I think would give us a good deal and I would just have to discuss it with T and hopefully he likes any one of the three since we do need to make a decision soon.

I Love You Saturday

Today was a busy day since T's Aunt and her family in town for a week long vacation. It was my first time to meet them and this morning we went to San Juan Capistrano and then we will meet them again for dinner tomorrow. We had a wonderful late lunch at Ruby's. We almost missed on seeing this restaurant as we got confused of how to get out of Mission's San Juan Capistrano. They surely need better exit signs as the one they currently have are not good. You can hardly see them!

Anyhow, even with the little hassle's we still had a wonderful lunch and then after our late lunch we went to the cemetery. T and I were thinking of going to my Uncle's house to watch the Pacquiao fight with them but we were both tired so we just decided to go home. Luckily, I got to find live video streaming of the fight online so we still got to watch it without paying for PPV. It was a boring fight but I'm still happy Manny won. I sure hope he doesn't for the congressional seat at Sarrangani. After the fight we had burrito for dinner.

Perfect Saturday!

What to do?

I'm totally clueless now on what to do. Since I got here, my skin has been adjusting to the weather, water and with everything else. I usually get pimples when it's almost that time of the month but lately, they have really made their presence felt. Teehee. I've tried different types of facial wash already and I'm still having the same issues. I read about the blue light therapy and if this is covered by our insurance provider, I might have to try this treatment just so I could find a solution to my problem. I'm thinking my skin is so used to the humid, polluted manila air and that is the reason I've been getting nasty pimples. Hopefully I find solution soon.

Netbook

It was in November of last year when my Acer Aspire was stolen. I can still remember how bad I felt for having lost it since I had a lot of files that I never got to back-up plus I use it for reviewing for NCLEX and bring it with me every time I go to starbucks to study. It was so handy and light that I never felt like I had a laptop in my bag. My books were even heavier! T has gotten me a new net book but of a different kind. I'm happy with what I am using right now but I'd have to say that the Acer was a great one and if I get the chance to buy one again next time, I sure would.

HomeMakeover

Watching the HGTV channel has been my favorite past time. In reality, I don't know if I can do any of the home makeover tips that they have. Our house needs a makeover. T and I have discussed what we need to do but have not really started on any. I was thinking I wanted to start with the kitchen. I have made small steps by painting our cabinets a few weeks after I got here but we still have a lot of things to do. Have the sink replaced, floor tiles changed, windows changed and get rid of the stuff that we have that we don't really need. After the kitchen, we move to the living room and then the bedrooms. If you ask me, I would just gladly get someone to do all this for us but labor here is not cheap! Good thing a lot of tools are available that would make all this handy work easier.

Vacations

We have been carefully planning on when and where to go for vacations. I have San Francisco, San Diego and Las Vegas on my list for a must go to places by summer. Atleast the cities I mentioned are just a few hours drive from where we are. As previously blogged, we'll be in Florida in March and then we are hoping to go to another East Coast city within the year. I'm dreaming of a family vacation at Azul Beach Hotel – Riviera Maya but with planned trips to go home to the Philippines this year, that dream would just be a dream for now. Teehee.

Random Musings

1. I have only done it once, but I have surprisingly enjoyed driving alone. I don't think I'm a really good driver but practice would make me one. I'm hoping to drive on the freeway by next month.
2. My back has been really bad for almost 2 weeks because of a small accident I had when we were on vacation at Yosemite. It's been a bit better though but I'm still not 100% ok.
3. We have our tickets for our trip to Florida next month. It would only be for a weekend ebult sure am looking forward to seeing long time family friends and on meeting T's relatives. Should be a fun weekend.
4. We are off to get some snow again this weekend. This time we go to June Mountain with T's friends and co-worker. I don't think I will be doing any skiing though because of my back. Will probably just end up taking pictures and just enjoying the view.
5. Loving American Idol! Thank God for DVR's as I can just record the show and then watch it after a few hours. Atleast I get to skip on watching the commercials about the hemorrhoid relief cream.
6. Valentines Day the movie was great! We celebrated our valentines weekend by watching movies and eating out. From Paris with Love was also a good film.
7. Missed my Dad's birthday celebration in manila and also missing out on Tikoy this year.
8. I never realized it was hard to fill a balikbayan box with stuff to send back home till now. Especially if the cargo company gives you two small boxes to fill as part of their promo.
9. Cebu Pacific has an on going promo but since we are still not sure of our schedule, I can't book any tickets yet.
10. I am sadly gaining weight. Need to diet and exercise.

Sushi Iki

Early January when T invited his cousin for dinner at Sushi Iki. T in the past has told me that Sushi Iki is the best Sushi restaurant ever. The restaurant is a small one a but is a very busy one especially on weekdays. It was my cousin who first introduced T to Sushi Iki.
Eddie owns Sushi Iki and if you sit by the bar you don't only get to eat good food but get lots of stories from Eddie himself. We had Omakase for the night. Omakase is when the chef just serves you anything and everything until you say you are done. We had about more than 10 different kinds of sushi that night and I must say it is the best Sushi I have ever had. The produce used were all fresh. I got to take pictures of some of the food we had but my pictures don't do justice of how good the food was.

For that night I totally forgot that I was trying to lose weight! The sorbet was a good way to finish the meal. It was worth the one hour drive to LA and we will surely go back.

Gold!

We have been receiving a lot of mail lately with regards to gold investment. Honestly speaking I know nothing about this form of investment and I don't think I will ever know on when is the best time to buy gold bullion. All I know is that keeping your money in the bank is not the best form of investment. That is the same reason we are looking for the best market to invest the very little money/savings that we have. I need to find time to read the letters we have been receiving from all sorts of investment company to know what's best to do right now.

First Time

This morning for the first time I drove alone. I have to get used to driving and badly needs to cross it out of my to accomplish list. I have had that goal for years! To drive is a must and I am so proud of myself for having done so this morning. No freeway driving yet though. Just driving to the grocery. I even parked and I think I did a good job at that too. Good thing I had to get some of the pills I saw online at appetitesuppressantreviews.net to be sent back home to Manila for a cousin. Tomorrow I should drive again.

Winter 2010

I only have one work for Yosemite...B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! The 6 hours travel was so worth it. I had my first experience of snow too. I got to try skiing but since I had a minor accident the morning we went to badger pass, I didn't really get to do much skiing. Hopefully my back feels better this week as we are going to June Mountain for some more snow. We have to make the most of what's left of winter. After this trip, our next one is by end of March when we go to Florida for Sheena's wedding.

Anyhow, back to Yosemite. Not all the hotels and restaurants were open for the winter season. I loved it because it was not as crowded as Big Bear mountain would be at this time of the year. The loft condo we stayed at was also beautiful. i love how we would wake up and just see snow outside our window. I love snow but I don't think I would want to have it for 4 months. I'm pretty much happy with Winter here at CA, lol. Imagine how hard it would be to get out of your driveway everyday even if you'ld just need to grab a far of an acne scar removal. Our 4 days/3 nights stay was just right. On my fourth day I have had enough of snow and was all ready to go home.

Long Weekend

It's a long weekend for us as T took a 2 days off from work and we are heading to Yosemite with his sister for the weekend. Finally, I get to see and experience S-N-O-W! I have my snow gear all ready and I will try to learn either snowboarding or skiing. It's a 9 hour drive and that's the only thing I am not looking forward too. We will also take this opportunity to check Outer Banks rentals for one of his uncles. After this weekend we have another snowboarding trip scheduled for the 3rd week of february this time with his college friends. Looking forward to my first snow experience.

Seriously!

We have to stop going to Target as we almost always end up buying a lot of things. Just to many nice and affordable items at Target and not to miss are the clearance items. I'm just saying this now I know but I will end up going to target again when I think of something to buy. Thank God for gift cards we have received as we got buy a few things we needed without spending money. We got to buy magazines also that had an article about Ferrari parts that T had been looking for. Not that we are buying a Ferrari soon but he just needs it for work.
