House Renovation

The project to renovate the house is never ending. After finishing the renovations inside, it's now the outside that we are working on. In the past 2 weeks, we had a new garage door installed and the outside of the house has been painted. Right now, someone is working on putting up a new fence and cementing our side yard. The one working on putting up our backyard fence is a guy we saw working on our neighbors house. They just finished doing some steel building and are now taking on smaller projects. This weeks forecast is it's going to be raining but I hope it's not going to be that bad for them to finish the project by the end of the week.

Dead Tired

First step of home improvement started today with the installation of new windows. It only took half a day for them to finish and it took me 3 hours to clean up. So tiring! I couldn't afford to wait for T to get home before I start cleaning up because the house was so dusty. I was so tired mid-way the cleaning but I knew I had to finish. This are the days I miss being in manila and having people around to help in cleaning the house :D. I told T I won't be able to cook dinner anymore and for us to either just eat out or for him to bring dinner home. I'm glad I was able to finish cleaning and still have time to rest while looking online for pool filters for my aunt. I'm glad I moved my doctor's appointment from this afternoon to tomorrow morning because I don't know how I would have finished cleaning early enough to make it to my appointment.

Nuninuninu

The coming weeks are going to be really busy. No vacations for now (though i would really want to go to San Diego or San Francisco). We will just be busy fixing the house. It's not one of my favorite things to do but it's something we have to do and we can't procrastinate anymore. We thought we were headed into a different direction but seems like God has a different plan. I think it will work out just fine and it's perfect for us. I have started the "clean-up" by boxing the used golf balls I have seen in the garage. Next stop is the kitchen. I still have to empty 2 cabinets. In short, we really have a long way to go.

HomeMakeover

Watching the HGTV channel has been my favorite past time. In reality, I don't know if I can do any of the home makeover tips that they have. Our house needs a makeover. T and I have discussed what we need to do but have not really started on any. I was thinking I wanted to start with the kitchen. I have made small steps by painting our cabinets a few weeks after I got here but we still have a lot of things to do. Have the sink replaced, floor tiles changed, windows changed and get rid of the stuff that we have that we don't really need. After the kitchen, we move to the living room and then the bedrooms. If you ask me, I would just gladly get someone to do all this for us but labor here is not cheap! Good thing a lot of tools are available that would make all this handy work easier.

Home Design

I'm currently addicted to watching the HGTV channel as I try to get ideas on what to do with our home. Other than getting tips from watching various shows on TV, the catalogues I get from shops here are a big help too. I'm trying to convince T that we get Dolan Designs for the our lighting needs. He says he'll think about it as he liked something else at crate and barrel. I never thought I would enjoy furnishing and fixing our home this much. Still a long way to go but we are getting there.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition

This is one TV show that never fails to make me close to crying and often times cry. I love how they help other people with doing makeovers of their homes but ultimately changing their lives. I'm always at awe of how the houses turn out. They are always beautiful and I end up dreaming of owning a house like those they build too. What's amazing is they finish the house in one week! Building a house in a week is no joke so you can only imagine the sacrifice the workers go through just to finish the project for the week. I love how they carefully plan every detail of the house from the living room, bedrooms, backyards and bathrooms. I can't wait to furnish our own home soon and I have been looking at Grohe faucets already for the bathroom to use. Just a few more months to wait!

home sweet house

i have never experienced moving houses. i have always wondered how it'll be, and even envied people who had to move! when the idea of selling the property came up, i really didn't like it. the house and the compound memories money could never buy!
anyhow, selling the property is still not in the very near future because just recently my mom has been thinking of having home improvements done by next year. i already told my mom i want sash windows for my room. she didn't have an idea on what sash windows were so i showed to her a website i found online -http://www.anglianhome.co.uk- she spent more than an hour looking through the website as she really like the window and door designs that they had. my mom loved the most the conservatory and is now thinking of getting one for the garden. it was really nice and something different. i do hope she decides on having one made for the garden. and maybe when we have one already, the idea of selling the house would be dropped.
