FG

i was watching the evening news, and they said that FG was just suffering from diarrhea. his arrived manila this afternoon via a private plane from osaka japan. i think it's more than diarrhea. just my opinion and i could be wrong. ok, it could be diarrhea but then again it could be karma too. im not wishing him harm but i just noticed that his health has been deteriorating the past years. is this God's way of teaching him a lesson. nuninuninu. more of this story here.

craving

this is bad. i want to eat fluke's mango mallow pie! i don't know on how i can convince my dad to go to makati tomorrow as i am pretty sure he'ld want to watch haton's fight on tv. maybe if i tell him i'ld buy him mini burgers and a mango mallow pie, he'ld say yes on driving for me. let's see what happens.

this early, i have been checking online sites of what i can get her for Christmas. i found really nice baby bedding but i will still have to check with my cousin on what bindi needs. so many nice things online that i know she could use and a lot of nice dresses too. im excited for her first bday too. uhm, i forgot she is only turning 3 months in a 2 weeks. teehee.

QOTW #40

you can join us here.

1. What measures have you taken to cut back expenses?
- i don't window/online shop as i always end up buying something i don't really need.
2. Have you ever bought a book and used the receipt as a bookmark?
- yes. when i bought the book PS I Love You by celia ahern, i was so excited to read it so while waiting for my parents to come out of the movie house i started reading it and i ended up using the receipt as a bookmark when they came out of the movie house.
3. Can you recall any traumatic, embarrassing or troubling events as a child that
you still remember vividly? If so, care to share?
- i was in kinder school so around 4-5 years old when i had my first and only hospitalization. i got sick with i don't know what (i was too young pa to care) but i remember the doctors having a hard time inserting my IV. 2-3 people would have to hold me for them to insert one plus they were having problems in locating veins where they could insert it. not only that, my IV would always get dislodged. i was crying so hard all the time.
4. What is the strangest question you have ever been asked at a job interview?
- what my favorite color is.
5. Does it make you uncomfortable if a woman is breastfeeding her baby in public?
- when i was younger, yes. now...no.
6. Do you know anyone who has an unpredictable temper? Who?
- yes, my ex-manager.
7. What did you have to learn “the hard way”?
- a lot. most learnings about life and love was learned the hardway.
8. Have you ever been dishonest about the origin of a bruise?
- nope.
9. Have you ever gotten any kind of envelope in the mail without the senders return address? Did you found out who it was from?
- nope.
10. It’s our 40th QOTW. I am giving away something. Can you tell me why should I give it to you? It’s just a little something to spice up this little Meme!
- because i have never won anything my entire life when it comes to contests, raffles, or things like this (parang super loser ako sa answer ko, teehee!).

investments

with the global recession, it's been hard to identify on where to invest. not that i have a lot to invest because i don't but with the very small dwindling savings i have, i HAVE TO find a market where i could invest it. sadly, i could not find any. maybe i should do what a friend from high school did. instead of investing in stocks or putting her money in the bank she has turned to gold investing. for one, the value of gold has not depreciated. if it does in the future i don't think it would be as bad as how stocks has lost it's value. i'm still undecided if i should do this, i still have to research and maybe monitor the market value of gold. thank God, for sites that give me more information about monex as it helps deciding on things like this a lot easier.

fluke

last saturday, after i came back from makati my mom told me we were to eat dinner out since the maids took a day off. after dinner we were going to my aunt's house as she wanted to go to the Holiday Treasures Bazaar at A. Venue Events Hall in makati avenue.

we left the house past 7 and had chinese food at for dinner. after, we went to my aunts house and then went to A.Venue. since we got there close to 9pm already, the Bazaar was closed already, boohoo! lucky us, there was a tiangge at the parking lot. my mom, sister and aunt went around the tiangge. since i was not really to buy anything, i stayed with my dad, uncle and borgy. After they got tired shopping, we went inside the mall to check out the restaurants. my aunt was telling us about the mini burgers at fluke, so at fluke we went. i didn't get to taste the mini burgers priced at Php95.00 for 3 mini burgers with fries but all of them said that the burger was really good. my uncle ordered mango mallow pie (php65.00) and it was super good! i even bought some for take out. i also bought cream puffs (Php55 for 6 mini cream puffs) and i wish i bought more. i can't wait to go back. maybe this weekend? teehee.

And watched with understanding,
Friendship’s flower will bloom for you."

Aries

Congratulations to Aries for being the winner of Project Runway Philippines Season 1. Up to the last minute, i was still hoping that Philip wins. If not for the dress that transforms, Philip would have won. That was the only thing i liked with his collection.

The models they used for the show though were...i dunno! some looked weird, some didn't really know how to walk, the others were super skinny im pretty sure they are taking fat burners. im not a supermodel nor am i an expert in this field but i just wished they got more experienced models for the runway show.

Anyhoo, congratulations to the top three who were christened by Rajo Laurel with new names. Philip, the Romantic, Veejay, the Modernist and Aries, the Technician.

Can't wait for season 2!

Nov 11, 2008

who will win?

i am a fan of project runway philippines. i watch this every week and if i miss an episode, i make sure to watch the rerun. from the start i have always liked philip and jaz's work. i was one of those who was so sad to see jaz go but i am very happy that philip made it to the top 3.

tonight is the second part of the two part finale. the long wait is over and the winner of project runway philippines first season is to be announced tonight. i have seen pictures of the fashion show and i must say that aries's collection was really nice but then again, we don't know on what the judges are thinking so philip might still win. i hope he does.

Bindicooter

*pics stolen from my sister's multiply site. pretty-pretty bindi!

Las Vegas

i would love to someday go to las vegas but for now i would just have to look at pictures of my parents trip to Las Vegas. from the pictures alone, i know they had fun. Im trying to arrange the album and what i did was to include a las vegas strip map and then take note from the map the place they have been, the hotel where they stayed and the hotels they visited. im looking forward in going to Las Vegas as my cousin mimi now works for Bellagio hotel. on when the trip to the city that never sleeps is to happen...soon i hope.

back to school

not me! i don't think i am ready to go back to school--not yet. i am planning to start reviewing again next year but i am not going back to school just yet. i don't think i would have the time. school takes up so much time. you also have to consider your travel time as traffic could get so bad. i think it's the same reason why some have opted to enroll with anonline university. one of my friends from college is currently enrolled in one. it works for her since she is always busy with work plus she has a family to take care of. all she has to do now is to go online to attend classes and to do school work. maybe when i am ready to finish my masters in business administration or if i want to take up further studies in a medical field, the option of online university is something i could do.

bindi

tomorrow is bindi's baptism. im super excited to see the little girl wearing her baptism outfit. i wanted to buy a gift for her earlier, but i could not find any that i want. i might just give her money for now and to see if i can buy her a bumbo seat in the US. the only thing with the bumbo seat is that she might only use it for a few months so im still undecided if i should get her one for Christmas. pictures to be posted tomorrow.

2009 Planner

what to use? that is the question.

for 2008, i bought a moleskine planner. i bought the red one and got one for a friend too.

i was able to complete the stickers for the starbucks planner since i spent most of my afternoon's studying there but i gave the planner to my sister. yeah, she got the planner i gained the weight. teehee.

for this year, i am thinking of what to do. i can either buy a moleskine again, or buy the planner that should change my life (ngek!), or try completing the stickers for a starbucks planner. red cups are back and from what i heard, i would only need 16 cups for this year's planner. or i can just ask my aunt to give me a sunlife planner.

will see.

jewelries

almost every woman i know loves jewelries. for me, jewelries complete an outfit. i remember buying earings from my very first christmas bonus. i lost that pair of earing though. last Christmas we gave my mom a bracelet we bought from Designer Jewelry. she loved it (ofcourse she would!). at first i was not really comfortable with buying jewelries online, but with the good service we were provided and the nice piece of jewelry that we got, im thinking of buying something soon again. uhm, maybe not so soon. teehee. maybe within next year or the next. but they have some items on sale, so i might be able to afford something i like.

random stuff

-i hope tisha and geoff wins the amazing race asia. after the disappointing finish of marc nelson and rovilson last year.

-i hope nanay zita wins survivor's philippines. she's the most deserving of all the contestants, i think.

-my monday morning is not going to be complete if i don't get to watch amazing race 12. same goes with my friday afternoon as i watch survivor's gabon. i think i tend to watch too much tv.

-seeing relatives again tomorrow, yeaboi.

-i hope the hotel where we are staying has free wifi. i sent an email inquiring if wifi is free, but they have not sent back an email. tsk!tsk!

boo!

happy halloween. no halloween party for this year. i actually have not gone out for a few days but have been very busy in front of the computer. so many things to do and finish. oh, i did go out this afternoon for a short trip to the bookstore and then to the grocery this evening to buy our "baon" for tomorrow's trip.

hope you guys had a fun halloween inspite of the rain.

Oct 29, 2008

this time last year....

-my sister came home for a vacation after 8 years...so it was busy.busy.busy.
-had just come from our halloween party. we should have had one again this year. it was super fun and everyone really came in costume.
-was super excited with our trip to boracay.
-was preparing my requirements for the NLE.
-was reviewing for the boards.

last year was busy and this year is pretty busy too. so nothing has really changed. teehee. i know i am happier now, than last year. i don't have the board exams to worry about. november is going to be super busy, i know and i can't even imagine what would happen come december.

i have a few more things to finish today and tomorrow. november 1, we are off to nueva ecija (as always). i know it would be super traffic but it is always exciting to be with relatives. i am excited to see my uncle who i heard hit the jackpot lately with playing http://www.casino.de/. he didn't really win a big amount, but i can't wait to see him and ask him to buy me ice cream. teehee. i heard he stopped playing already after winning as he believes it was just beginner's luck.

have a safe and fun weekend!

Run the risk, if you get hurt, you’ll come back. Because, the truth is there is no sense living your life without this. off to the mall tomorrow morning

just finished talking to my dad and seems like my week is to start with a trip to the mall tomorrow. we have had carpenters for the past 3 weeks as it took time in renovating one of the units and they still have to paint the whole compound so my dad is thinking of buying an airbrush. that should have them finish the work by the end of the month. my trip to the mall tomorrow is perfect since i have to buy something at the bookstore.

slow weekend

for the past few weeks, my weekends had been pretty busy. for a change, i just stayed home over the weekend. the weather was so hot! it was all sunny for the past two days, i hated it but my dad liked the idea that the weather has been cooperative since we still have carpenters and they have started painting today. one carpenter had installed the Delta faucets in one of the units that was repaired.

the maids also took a day off starting saturday, so i was busy washing dishes. maids are back after lunch this afternoon so i was saved from doing any other household chore. teehee.

it was a slow weekend, but it was nice to have been able to just stay home.

Oct 17, 2008

Saturday Morning

i hate waking up with a headache, and today i did. every time i wake up with a headache i try to think of what i did last night that might have caused it but for today's headache, i could not think of any. other than oversleeping for 30 mins. teehee. i hope i feel a lot better soon.

high school friends

i have not seen my high school friends in years! I and R are in the US, P is in Singapore, and J in Australia. Three of us are still here in manila but we don't see each other too.

the good news is I is coming home in december. J is taking a vacation too and we have told P to go home so we could have a reunion. December is such a busy month but i do hope we all get to squeeze in a reunion in our schedules. the last time i saw them was i think 3 years ago when P gave us term life insurance quotes as she was working for an insurance company and she was insisting us to get one for her to reach her quota.

Can't wait for December!

how do i lose weight?

last saturday, i finally had the taste of Pepper Lunch. i was at rockwell with friends so we decided to have early dinner before heading home. the restaurant has received a lot of good reviews so i was excited to finally try it. the verdict? it was ok. will i eat there again? yes, i was just not blown away by the food. i guess i had very high expectations. but i will come back, and try other dishes. i had the beef pepper rice.

i had that for dinner saturday and then went to Dad's for dinner last Sunday. Last wednesday we had lunch at Gerry's. i finished a bag of fritolay's last week (i have a limit of one bag a week).

i. have. to. stop. eating.

i don't really think i have to lose weight but i just have to maintain my weight. but with the dinning out and cravings and the junk food i have been eating, how do i do this? i promise to stop buying fritolays for now. should i try alli diet pill? or just exercise everyday or go back to boxing? any suggestions?

Oct 16, 2008

four eyes

i used to have 4 eyes and then in 2003 i had Lasik. i loved that i never had to wear my eyeglasses or my contact lenses again. i enjoyed swimming again because i can see under water without a problem. in 2006 though i think i abused my eyes and i am back to having an eye grade of at least 100 on both eyes. i think it has worsened the past few years and it's time to go back to my eye doctor and have Lasik done again. i will have this done early next year, 6 years after i had my first one and hopefully my last.

baby stuff

was chatting with my cousin last night and i have never realized the wide choices for strollers. buy one is just like buying a car. i was shocked at seeing the prices too. never thought a stroller could be that expensive. she has not bought one for bindy yet and is taking her time on looking at different brands to make sure she buys one that bindy could use till toddler years and something she could also use for future kids.

enjoying my thursday

i woke up pretty early today, went to divisoria. had lunch at home and now im here at a mall in qc to meet a supplier. i am enjoying my white chocolate mocha and making use of the free wifi. after meeting julie, im going to look for a unlocked phone. i think it is time to retire my phone and purchase a new one. i am not to buy a phone anytime soon since this is really not within my budget but maybe, just maybe i can find a cheap one that i could squeeze in my budget.
it is a busy thursday, but it had been all fun.

Oct 12, 2008

a busy weekend

Friday:

Left home around 5PM to meet up with Ate Emma to go to Bioessence. After 2 hours and a half of pampering, we had dinner this time with Kuya Alan at HapChang and then ended the night with coffee at Starbucks.

Saturday:

Powerplant mall with Ate Emma. Window shopping is sooo fun. Kuya Alan met up with us and then we had early dinner at Pepper Lunch (yum).

Sunday:

Went to church early with the parents and some family friends. Had shawarma for breakfast/merienda. We then went to Divisoria as my mom's friend from NZ wanted to do go shopping. Stayed there till past 4PM. We went to glorietta after and had dinner at Dad's. It was super tiring but fun. Dinner was really nice and Tita N who was with us, told us about the Disney vacations they were planning to take next year. We finally went home around 8PM. we were out for 12 hours! no wonder i was super tired.

for jody

this was something i saw at divisoria last sunday. when i saw it, i remembered you and margaux.

cooking

i don't know how to cook and i am not proud of it. i wish i know how to but all i can do is eat and not cook, teehee! i want to learn though and i have been looking at appetizer recipes for starters. i think appetizers are important part of a meal and learning appetizer recipes is a good start for those who want to learn how to cook.
i want to write. i want to come up with something nice. i have a lot of things in my mind and i have a lot of things i want to blog about but i can't seem to start writing. everytime i want to write something i always end up erasing it or just having it in my draft folder.

so many things happening, all good though. 2008 is indeed a wonderful year and i know that 2009 is going to be a better year.

Villa Escudero

I with my mom and a few of her officemates went to Villa Escudero the other day. It was my first time to go there. Since my mom had 3 days off from work, they took the opportunity to go there for a day trip. The place was just fine. I enjoyed the museum and that's just about it. nothing really great with the food. it was a nice experience and i would have enjoyed it if i was with people my age, teehee. they have a pool too but we didn't really swim. they have cottages there too with pop up tv.

It was a nice day trip. atleast i got to go somewhere new to me and got the chance to go out of the city.

christmas is so near

it's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas! i love it. Christmas is my most favorite season of all, and i know that this year is going to be extra special. i'm so excited already. it's the busiest season of all but it's not going to be the same if it was not busy. we went to bonifacio high street last friday and i saw a Christmas tree i want. i told my mom to buy it but she said we still have 2 trees. she is putting up one this year, as we didn't last year. i think i can still convince her to buy the tree i want. i took a picture of it but my phone camera does not give justice to how beautiful the tree was.

i want the orange one!

repair 101

we have carpenters in the house, again.

one of the tenants was asked to vacate one unit and since they have been staying there for years already, the unit needs major repair. i have not seen the unit yet but my dad said that he will have to have the bathroom renovated and have new kitchen sinks installed.

other than repairing the unit, they will also do repainting of the house. just the outside though, no repainting inside. i hope it does not rain for the next few weeks.

i heart junk

the junk i have been eating for the past few days...

fritolays is just addicting

chips ahoy chewy is yummy
friday's quesadilla is perfect with iced tea
3 Musketeers is the perfect chocolate bar for me

but here is what i miss the most but had to stop myself from buying on my last trip to SandR since it is too expensive for an icecream.

the only ice cream that keeps you skinny

thank God i have not been gaining weight with all the junk i have been eating.

13 hours

it took me 13 hours to fix my wireless connection. it was super frustrating as i felt i tried everything already and it's still not working. close to my 13th hour of trying things, i said to myself that this was the last time i was uninstalling and reinstalling the program. i didn't do anything different other than chanting the whole time "please Lord make it work" and boy oh boy it finally did. Thank you Lord!

i spend an hour looking for vacation packages last night since my mom has been thinking of going on a vacation next week. it is going to be a long weekend for her and friends from work and they have been thinking of going out of town. i told her that all the packages i saw required plane ride and that's something that they don't want. i was telling her about the Brazil vacation packages i saw online and she said maybe they can do that after she retires. when? i don't know. she always tries to retire every year but every year she tries to do that they tell her too that she might want to reconsider. i told her to make sure she retires atleast by next year because if she doesn't, the package might not be available anymore.

Bindi

it took her mom more than 30 hours of labor and we were all excited for her arrival. even before her due date, my cousin was already telling us that she is to give birth on sept 11. my cousin's husband is pakistani (but sooo filipino, i tell you!) so we were joking that sept 11 was the perfect birthday for bindi (gets nyo ba ang joke?). her mom called us sept 9 to tell us that cousin T was already on her way to give birth. we waited and waited and waited but Bindi took her sweet time and proved to us that she was an obedient child.

on sept 11, at 11:30 in the morning, we all welcomed bindi to the family. our new princess! everybody is so happy with the new addition to the family.

it was so nice to meet you and see you, baby bindi. i pray you grow up to be a good girl like your tita's ,teehee. (ain't she cute? i love the chubby cheeks!)

i love september

i love september only because it means the start of new season's of my favorite US TV shows. gossip girl has started 2 weeks ago, amazing race starts end of the month same with survivors, grey's anatomy, house md, the practice, and the list goes on. with all this shows starting a new season, i want a HDTV! teehee. im super looking forward as how grey's and house md starts a new season. can't wait! can't wait!

medical city

i was at medical city last night with the parents and my sister to visit cousin T who gave birth to our family's new princess, baby bindi (i will be posting more about bindi later). medical city is a really nice hospital, the only things i don't like about it is it is quite confusing. i don't get it on why the nursery viewing room is at the lower ground floor while the delivery room and NICU is at the 5th floor. elevators are really slow and parking is super confusing too. other than that, i like the hospital. the rooms are really nice. i envy the nursing students i saw who had their own room. i remember when i was doing my clinical rotations, we would often just stay in a vacant room. that's how it is with government hospitals. their was even one time we had to vacate the room because they were admitting a patient who had Adult Asthma. im just glad those days are now over. it was also funny that one of the nurses at the hospital obviously didn't have anything to do last night as she was just playing diner dash. lucky her!

still no bindi

my cousin still has not given birth even after being at the labor room for more than 24 hours now. we are all excited to see baby bindi but seems like she is very shy and has opted to not go out yet. hopefully, today we get to finally see her. i hope cousin T was able to rest well last night as she will need it. i hope she does not have to go through CS.

Not my will but Yours be done

I started this year hopeful and praying that I pass the nursing board exam. At the same time, I was also preparing myself on what to do just in case I don't pass. I had plan A and plan B. I had so many things planned and after I passed the boards, I was so excited to do things I have planned and was looking forward to it.

Little did i know, that God had better things in store for me. That I can plan all i want but in the end it is His will and plan for me that is bound to happen. I have things in my mind that I wanted to do but He has grander things for me. He has plans for me that will actually make me happier. Plans that was way better than what I had planned for.

A lot of things has changed and this year has truly been filled with so many blessings. 2008 is far from over and I know that so many more things are to come and that 2009 is going to be an even better year. I only have God to thank for because He has been faithful and generous. He has given me more than what i have even asked for.

a wonderful wednesday

i don't usually go to glorietta because i get lost there. any mall that is farther than ortigas is a no-no for me. last wednesday though i had to go to glorietta with my dad for an errand. we went there early because we wanted to be heading home after lunch. when we got there, we immediately did what we went there for and finished it in less than an hour. i bought myself a magazine and a book i have been wanting to buy since last month. they were also giving out free audio books so i got myself 3. it was for free! i love freebies, teehee. had lunch (i had korean beef stew, yum!) and desert with dad. by 2PM we were on our way home. it was a fun day with daddy and suprisingly, i enjoyed glorietta.

i miss school

i miss cramming for an exam. i miss having to stay up late at night to read, understand whatever and memorize stuff. i miss meeting my friends in school. i miss our car pool. i miss interacting with patients and clinical instructors and hospital staff. i kinda miss clinical rotations too (i can't believe im writing this!). i remember that one time we were talking about one patient we had who asked about DNA testing because he was thinking of undergoing such after finding out that his wife had an extra marital affair and he wanted his new born son tested. i remember thinking that his life felt like it came straight out of a telenovela. teehee!

weird feeling and i guess it does not help that 2 of my closest friends from school are abroad right now. this time last year i was busy reviewing for the boards already and i never thought that i will ever say that i miss school.

Aug 22, 2008

long weekend...again

have a fun and safe weekend to everyone!

Moving

my friend from college A has been working abroad for close to 10 years now. the last 4 years as a flight attendant. im happy for her because this month she was able to buy a house. she is the breadwinner for her family and when she went home a few months back she told me that she needs to start investing as she knows she can't be a flight attendant for long. anyhoo, they have started moving to their new house. luckily, one other friend from college arranged for a truck rental to help A's mom with the move. A is still abroad but is coming home soon for the house blessing. i can't help but be happy and proud of her. see you soon A!

money talk

my cousins and i were talking about business last sunday. since Christmas is just around the corner, we were thinking of other ways to earn extra money. joining bazaar's are one of those things we are considering. a cousin-in-law though is looking at franchise opportunities they could invest on. he used to have a stall in glorietta but had to close it after the bombing last year. he is toying with the idea of renting a stall again. i think that opening a business this year is good for them since baby B is arriving soon.

the long weekend

i had one tiring weekend! not a two day weekend, for it was a four day weekend for me (no work in qc yesteday as it was qc day).

saturday
-went to the mall to buy a gift for cousin T's baby shower.
-cousin T's baby shower in makati. super fun! went home close to midnight already.

sunday
-church
-galleria with cousins and tita and tito. window shopped till the mall closed. dinner at mr choi and then desert at crazy crepe.

monday
-divisoria with the parents and ate.
-lunch at chowking
-duty free! cousin P bought acne scars cream at a discounted price. i bought a nice but cheap red bag. my sister bought 2--it was that cheap.
-afternoon snack at le coeur.
-citiland
-glorietta

tuesday
-did errands in kamuning and san juan
-banapple!
-got lost in pasig and my sister almost got a traffic violation ticket. almost because we got away with it. for one, we didn't really know the area.

im glad i could just stay home today and rest. i hope you guys had a great weekend too!

mimi in vegas

i am happy that mimi (a cousin from the father side) has finally signed up for her own email account. i was super shocked when one aunt gave me her email address and told me that mimi told her to make sure to tell me of her new email address and to email her asap. it was so nice to be exchanging emails with her. she has been telling me to visit her soon. she now works in a hotel in vegas and she was telling me we could book a Vegas vacations package if and when i visit her. i sure hope i can visit her soon.

tv lifts

i went to my cousins house over the weekend and she asked me to visit her clinic as she had it renovated recently. she had installed tv lifts to sve some space in her clinic. true enough, it looked bigger and it saved a lot of space as she was able to get rid off the table she used for her tv. i love her new clinic. looks brighter and cleaner. i actually thought she had it extended because it looked bigger but she said she just changed furnishings plus the tv lift. im sure she'll attract more patients with her new and cool looking clinic.

oh no

i have spent the past 30 mins reading diet pill reviews. not for me but for an aunt who has been bugging me to check on what is the best diet pill for her to take. since i am in the medical profession, i would not really suggest for her to drink diet pills but since she has been very persistent that i read reviews, here i am doing so. weird thing, as i am reading the reviews i started craving for frapuccino and banoffee pie of starbucks. i can actually walk to starbucks and satisfy my craving but i am resisting the temptaion. let's see if i can really resist not going to starbucks.

i miss blogging. i miss sharing my thoughts and the things that have been happening to me. i miss writing. not that im a good writer because i don't think i am but just the same i miss it.

still busy

i thought i'ld be able to blog hop, update links, do tags and finish tasks last week but nope. i have not! super busy still. tasks even expired, tsk!
tomorrow is another busy day as i have errands to do. have to go out with my dad too but i hope it does not rain because i hate traffic. my mom and i are planning to visit the derma this weekend. have to get rid of nasty nose blackheads. i have not visited the derma for months and due to stress my skin is breaking out too.
happy friday and weekend to all!

seatbelt bag

im loving my new bag. right now, i have not seen anyone with a bag same as mine. i kept my other bags for now, as this bag is my current favorite. one of the reasons i love it is because i can put bert (my asus eee pc) inside my bag. my bag may look small, but it's not. super love it.

mortgage quotes

i have about 3 email accounts. one i use for personal emails, another one i used for work and the third email i keep use for tasks and to receive free mortgage quotes. even if i am not buying a property anytime soon, i love looking at properties and quotes and dreaming of one day buying one. you'll never know when you'll need it. i remember my aunt telling me one time that she was looking into buying a property and didn't know where to look. my mortgage quote came in handy as i was able to email it to her and she was able to buy one that she liked and was within her budget.

busy macy

i have been busy with things, or must i say im doing more important things that i have forgotten blog hoping and blogging. i just have more important things to do but i promise to be back soon and hopefully get more tasks in the coming weeks. i have totally neglected my blogs.

to blogger friends, i promise to update links, to do tags and visit your blogs soon.

Jul 14, 2008

meet my new toys

i love my new friends, ernie and bert.

ernie is a tickle me ernie and then i named my asus bert. i know, my asus is pink but i think bert is gay because he lives-in with ernie. teehee!

Jul 11, 2008

cheetos twisted

im again super addicted to cheetos twisted. it all started after i bought a bag in dumaguete and just 30 minutes ago, my dad went out and i went with him and asked him if we could go to the grocery because i have been craving for cheetos. this has to stop! how could i lose weight if i keep on eating cheetos. i don't want to drink Phentermine like my friend just to lose weight. i know that all i have to do is to stop eating junk food. i promise to just finish the bag i bought and quit eating cheetos just like how i have quit drinking soda.

no longer a baby

time flies so fast.

i just got off the phone with my friend and i can't believe it that his baby brother is already graduating from college this year already. i remember andy as the little boy who we would always play with every time we go to her house. andy is an electronics guru. ask him anything about electronics and he will surely be able to answer any question you have. that was even when he was in highschool. i am indeed getting old already. sheesh!

Jul 10, 2008

business cards

i don't think i have ever posted an entry for the business card i designed for work. i did the design myself because all our web designers were swamped with work and we needed to have our business card already. good thing i found a logo design maker online. that website was a lifesaver! it took 10 minutes to finish our business card layout. our director loved the logo and the business card. here is a screenshot of the website while i was doing our business card.

happy birthday mommy!

today is my mom's nth birthday. honestly, i would have placed my mom's age but i don't know how old she is already. i know she is more than 60 though. 65 i think. i'm super bad for not even knowing. she didn't go to work today instead she went to the salon for her monthly hair treatment. since our maids are still on vacation, she just bought food for lunch. for dinner we ate out. had ice cream (dairy queen) for desert. too much food for the past few days! i should stop eating. my mom who is trying to lose weight said that she might actually need diet pills to reach her target weight by the end of the year. teehee. i think it's because we have been eating out a lot the past few days. anyhoo, eating out and being with family is fun so who cares with all the weight gain.

happy bday again, mom.

what to do?

apart from the need to clean my closet, today i deleted all the files i didn't need. it's taking up too much space in my desktop plus i know i have those files saved in my old laptop computer. i would have to make sure though to back up all the pictures this weekend. i am also thinking of having some pictures printed. i want to have all of them printed but it costs too much. decisions. decisions.

Jul 9, 2008

clean up

that is something i would have to do tomorrow morning. i have to clean up my room and cabinet again. i have to review the books and reviewers i have and see on what are the things i could still use and what are the textbooks i should be keeping for now. i have realized i have a lot of nursing books and some i don't really need anymore. the almost 3 years in nursing school, i have accumulated a lot of things. i have 2 boxes of photocopies i have to sort. i wish i get to do it tomorrow.

missing dumaguete

i miss the quiet city and simple life in dumaguete. i miss the super cheap buy yummy food. i miss just doing nothing and not having to worry about anything. i miss the company i had in dumaguete.

it was such a wonderful city and sometimes when manila gets too crazy, it just makes me want to go back there. soon i hope.

weebee

finally have my asus eee pc! im super loving it and i can now blog from anywhere in the house. thanks to our wireless router. my laptop is so nice and easy to use. i was also given extra memory for pictures and other files. this asus is going to be extra useful in the coming months, i just know. oh, did i mention that my asus is colored pink? so cute!

Jul 7, 2008

im back!

after almost two weeks of absence in the blogging world, im back. i went away for a few days for a vacation. the place i stayed at was beautiful and even had home theater chairs in the rooms. the vacation was well worth it. at least i was able to recharge and now ready to do new things. the last two quarters of this year is going to be very exciting. for now, it's just so good to be back. i have a few tasks to finish though and hopefully i get to finish and visit blogs by tomorrow.

Jun 19, 2008

mesothelioma

i first heard of mesothelioma in nursing school. mesothelioma is an asbestos-caused cancer of the serous membranes that surround many of the body’s vital organs. unlike the other forms of cancer, this type of cancer is not known to a lot of people. a friend's relative is suffering from this type of cancer. hers is peritoneal mesothelioma which is the second most common form of the disease which affects the lining of her abdomen. cancer is not only a physically draining disease but more so it drains you emotionally too. i could only hope and pray that she get better soon.

collections

i went to my tita's house to check on dvd's she has that i could borrow and she was fixing her rare coin. it was so cool and expensive i bet. apart from her coin collection she collects miniature piano and she also collects anything that has musical notes.

i was thinking of it and i realized other than the powerpuff items i have (which is not a lot), i don't really have a collection. my eldest sister has polly pockets. my other sister has cabbage patch and cars. me? nada. oh, i have a few pairs of havaianas. would that be considered a collection already?

im so boring.

vacation

the last vacation i took was when i went to boracay with my family last october. i promised myself i will take a vacation after the december board exams but it never happened. my friends and i have planned of going out of town for summer, but it too never happened. i had a 3 day baguio get away last holy week. it was great because i was with family but that vacation was really tiring as we were always scheduled to go somewhere.

i want a vacation where i could just do nothing. just be under the sun and do a little sight seeing.

that's what i'm going to have soon. can't wait!

apple iphone

i have always been happy with my razr. it's was a phone where i could text, call, and take pictures if i needed too. that's all i really need, right? for almost a week now, my razr has not been working. i don't know what's wrong with it. my razr has suffered a lot of fall already and i think it has taken it's toll.

it has been about a week ago that an announcement was made about the apple iphone 3G. with no intentions of buying one in the future, the curious me just read articles about it. all i can say is...I WANT ONE! teehee. it's to be released on july 11 in the US and a few other countries except the philippines. on when it is to be released here, that i cannot answer. globe telecom though will partner with singtel for the release of iphone here in the country.

i hope rackets become better in the coming weeks so i can save up for one.

save wisely

lately i have gotten to realize how important it is to make investments. saving money in the bank alone is not a very wise form of investment because of the very low interest rate being offered by banks. i would suggest that one look into other forms of investments like shares of stocks. it's easy to get in touch with a broker and check for your stock options. study the market carefully and check of what are the good companies to invest in. with the stock market though, you'll have to carefully watch the market. it's not a form of investment that you forget because before you know it you would have lost money already.

im not an expert when it comes to saving money because honestly i don't have one right now. i have invested my money to nursing school. going back to school even with my parents help has depleted whatever savings i have but im not complaining. i know it was all worth it. i think it's the best investment i have ever made.

going korean...again

a few weeks back when i went to 168 with my friends from nursing school i bought a dvd of biscuit teacher and star candy. anyone of you who has seen this series already? im itching to watch it but i have a lot of work to finish and watching korean series needs 100% full attention because of the reading of the sub-titles. my friend says it is really funny and what made me buy the dvd is gong yoo.

any feedbacks on the series?

kratom

kratom refers to a tree that is indigenous to Thailand. If North America has oak or maple tree, it is kratom for thailand. I first heard of kratom when my cousin took a trip to thailand and she went to a store that sells kratom. she was told that kratom one early years was chewed to help one get through their work day. kratom's reported effects are supposed to be more sedative or relaxing. kratom has a long history of use as a pain-killer, an anti-diarrheal remedy. kratom effects on humans are not clearly known, so it should first be made absolutely clear that any consumption of this natural herbal product should be done with caution and care.

SM vs Trinoma

i went to SM north edsa last night and if you are someone who is from QC, you know that the mall is usually filled with people shopping and window shopping. i have noticed though that ever since Trinoma opened, more people go to Trinoma instead of to SM. it was just weird walking at SM with not much shoppers. I didn't dare go to trinoma because i know na dami shoppers. SM has to do major renovations to attract customers again because obviously everyone has been going to trinoma. i personally like trinoma better.

i love the rain

it has been very hot this morning. it has been hot the past days but not right now. for the past 20 mins, it has been raining and im loving it! i love the rain especially if i am not going out. it is much cooler right now compared to an hour ago. i just hope it rains for a few more hours.

im still alive

surprisingly, i was able to cross out a lot of things from my to do list. hooray! i still have a few more things to do but i can't really do anything else right now but wait since our softphone provider's service is super bad. i can't believe we plan to move our softphone subscription to them. i can't even do any tests right now since no one has called me to help me with the configuration. they are delaying things. tsktsk!

since, i have to wait for them i know have time to do some blogging and surfing. hooray again! my uncle has requested me to find out on how he can get the drug guide for blackberry. even doctors need easy access to a drug guide. i believe i have found what he actually needs and will just have to email him the details. after, i can do my weekly rounds of blog hop.

today turns out to be a not so bad day after all.

trip to the derma

my mom has been bugging me to go with her to the dermatologist this saturday as she has ran out of anti wrinkle cream already. yeah, i guess it's about time to get a facial too. i have not had one for months. the last time i had one was close to a year ago. it's just that i don't like going to the dermatologist on weekends because of the long waiting period. i guess i just have to convince my mom that we go on monday instead. hopefully she agrees with me.

06.06.08

yesterday was a busy day. i was on leave from work but i still had to wake up early to make sure everyone was working. i also had to deal with smart bro, one of our staff members internet provider. i am super thankful they are not my internet provider because the service they provide is really bad.

10am my sister and i went to the salon to have our nails done. by 11am we went to a different salon for our hair and make-up. cousin T was getting married at 4pm and i was one of the bridesmaids and my sister was a secondary sponsor.

we left the salon before 3pm so we just had time to change and then off we went to Archbishop's palace for the wedding ceremony. yup, no lunch and we didn't even have a chance to drink water. the ceremony was short but really nice. i liked the priest's homily because it was very simple but sweet. a lot of funny moments during the ceremony also but i think that made the ceremony even more nice.

reception was at wack-wack golf and country club. no formal program but super fun still. my cousin had to change outfits too during the ceremony and her second gown was really nice.

congratulations, T and G!

real living

it was a busy day yesterday so this morning was just spent watching movies, catching on sleep and reading. i was going over a home magazine and i saw a room with wood blinds. it was so nice and classy. i want to get this for our room. i showed it to my mom and she agrees with me that they are really nice but she says if we also have to change our windows if we change to wood blinds. that's too much work and i don't like to home renovations. so we are sticking with our current blinds and curtains for now.

when my parents went to the states to visit my sister, one of the most memorable for them was a trip to las vegas. one because it was a trip they took with my mom's brother, second because my dad won $$$ on the slot machine (he actually thought he won a car) and third because of the beautiful las vegas hotels they visited. i want to go to vegas...ok macau would do for now.
